Where are you located and what areas do you serve?
Ace's Retrievers is based in Kiln, Mississippi. We serve clients all over Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama, and ship dogs anywhere in the continental United States.
What breeds of Labrador Retrievers do you offer?
We specialize in UK Labrador Retrievers — known for calm temperament, biddability, and natural retrieving instinct — in black, yellow, and chocolate. Our lines are imported from one trusted UK breeder we've worked with for over 20 years.
How much does a puppy or trained dog cost?
Pricing varies by program. Puppies start around the standard market rate for premium UK Labs, and trained started and finished dogs are priced based on the level of training completed. Contact us directly for a current price sheet and availability.
Do you ship dogs out of state?
Yes. We regularly ship dogs throughout the continental United States. We coordinate ground transport with trusted partners or arrange flight nanny service depending on your location and the dog's age. Shipping costs are quoted at time of purchase.
What's the difference between a started dog and a finished dog?
A started dog has solid obedience and basic retrieving foundations — sit, here, heel, kennel, and retrieving to hand on land and water. A finished dog is fully gun-dog trained: blind retrieves, hand signals, multiple marks, steady to shot and fall, and ready to hunt waterfowl or upland.
Are your breeding dogs health tested?
Yes. All our sires and dams are OFA-certified for hips and elbows, eye-cleared (CERF), and DNA-tested for genetic conditions common to Labradors including EIC, CNM, and PRA. We only breed dogs that pass full health clearances.
How do I reserve a puppy from an upcoming litter?
Contact us by phone or through our website to be added to the waiting list for a planned litter. A deposit secures your pick-of-litter spot. We'll match each puppy to your goals — hunting, service work, or family companion — based on temperament evaluations done at 7 weeks.
Do you train dogs that I already own?
Yes. We accept client dogs for our full range of training programs — basic obedience, gun-dog training, and advanced finishing. See our Training page or fill out the client intake form to get started.
